Happy Friday From The Meadow Brook Office!

If you have not done so already, please take some time to fill out and submit your on line emergency card as soon as possible.

Completing this task is critically important to our communication process.  We need all on line emergency cards to be submitted before the end of the weekend.

If you have questions about how to submit through ParentVUE, please see the detailed instructions linked to front page of our website (linked below), under the heading “Parent Online Emergency Card Instructions.”

The Lyons Letter 9.14.18: Multi-Tiered Systems of Support

Multi-Tiered Systems of Support

What is MTSS?  It is a multi-tier approach to early identification and support of students using key instructional strategies, universal screening tools and on-going data analysis to implement effective interventions.

Think of the tiers within a pyramid, as you move closer to the top, or point, the more specific the support.

Tier 1– Universal Level

  • Takes place in the general education classroom on a daily basis.
  • High-quality, differentiated, research-based instruction.

Tier II—Targeted Level

  • Takes place within or outside the general education classroom.
  • In addition to classroom instruction.
  • Remediation of specific skills or concepts in small groups.

Tier III— Intensive Level

  • Takes place outside of the general education classroom.
  • In addition to classroom instruction.
  • Intensive skill-specific intervention.
  • One-on-one or small group instruction.

Touch base with any questions!

Welcome back to school, parents!

My name is Jennifer Wroza and I’m thrilled to be our school’s Box Tops for Education™ Coordinator.

Clipping Box Tops is an easy way to help earn cash for our school. Each one is worth 10¢ for our school! Just look for the pink Box Tops on hundreds of products. All you have to do is clip them and send them to school.  You can paste them to the attached form OR you can send them in a baggy.  Just be sure to include your child’s name and teacher so they can be entered in the monthly drawing.

Last school year, we earned $1538.20 for our school from Box Tops!

For more information on Box Tops, including a list of participating products, go to BTFE.com. Be sure to sign up as a member (it’s free!) so you can check out our school’s earnings details and get access to coupons and bonus offers.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me. I’m here to help make our school’s Box Tops for Education™ program a huge success this year.

Thanks for your help!

Good Afternoon, Meadow Brook Partners!

Our Food Awareness Team is always looking to enhance our practice regarding food safety and inclusion.  To that end, we have update training for those interested in being certified to send their non-allergy students to school with “Table 2” allergy safe lunches so that they can sit with friends who are impacted by food allergies.

Please print and read the following information if you are interested: MBE Food Awareness Table 2 Packet

Once you have completed a thorough reading of the packet, please complete the following form and reach out to Mr. Berg at sberg@rochester.k12.mi.us for next steps: MBE Table 2 Training Completion Form
