Hero Headlines: Help Us Build A Chain Of Heroes!

Safe. Respectful. Responsible.

Greetings, Meadow Brook Partners!

Last year we started to build a “Chain of Heroes” around our school.  We began late in the spring and made it all the way down our front hallway before the end of the year.

It’s time to pick up where we left off!

You will find templates for “Chain of Heroes” links in the office by the “Hero Headlines” bucket.  Please nominate Meadow Brook Heroes when you see them.  The links you submit will be addd to our chain.

The goal is to get the chain around the entire building by the end of the year.

You can recognize Meadow Brook Heroes for being safe, respectful, and/or responsible – all of which come in many forms.  Describe the hero and his/her actions on the link form so that we can celebrate the heroic actions of our students, staff, and parents together!

Thank you for your participation and your partnership…in it together for the kids!

Wishing you a peaceful, joyful, and relaxing weekend,

Seth

Blessings In A Backpack Program: A Message Of Support From RCS

Greetings, Meadow Brook Partners!

Rochester Community Schools is pleased to continue the nationally recognized Blessings in a Backpack program in your school to help ensure that all children have the nutritional foundation to be successful in school. This program, which is supported through private donations and the Meijer Corporation, gives eligible students enough food for three meals a day during the weekend.

Blessings in a Backpack is a voluntary program designed for families who have students enrolled in the free and reduced lunch program. As a participant in the Blessings in a Backpack program, your child will receive a Meijer grocery bag every Friday filled with food for the weekend. This may include food like macaroni and cheese, beef ravioli, fruit granola bars, peanut butter, soups, juices and other items. Please be assured that your child’s name will not be given to the volunteers who are packing the food and we will do everything possible to make sure this a positive experience. The grocery bag is generally small enough to fit into your child’s backpack.  However, please be aware that because only certain students will be receiving grocery bags of food, some degree of confidentially may be lost with your participation in this program.

If you would like to have your child(ren) participate in Blessings in a Backpack please contact me at sberg@rochester.k12.mi.us at your earliest convenience.

Thank you,

Seth

MBE Box Tops Update: 2,277 Collected So Far!

Thank you so much to all of you who have turned in box tops this year.

So far we have collected 2,277 box tops!

Mr. Noronha’s class is in the lead!  Way to go!

This is such an easy way to raise money for our school, so please keep clipping those box tops.

The next due date is October 26th.

Put your box tops in a baggie or envelope and send them in with your students or put them in the box in the school office and your student might win a new book!

Please direct any questions to Jennifer Wroza (wroza@sbcglobal.net).

Thanks!
