West Door Student Pick Up Input

We continuously working to enhance our drop off and pick up processes at Meadow Brook.

If you use the parking lot and the west door to pick up your student(s) you may have noticed that we recently moved all bus pick ups to the east side of the building in an effort to diminish congestion and enhance safety.

We are still looking for input.

If you have any ideas regarding enhancing the pick up process on the west side of the building please use this form to submit them: MBE West Door Pick Up Input Form

Thank you!

Meadow Brook Staffing and Programming Update: Partnerships Enhanced!

Safe. Respectful. Responsible.

Greetings Meadow Brook Partners,

I hope you’re all enjoying a safe, fun, and relaxing long weekend with family and friends!

I have some great news to bring to you with regard to our Meadow Brook staff, and the teaching and learning collaborations that continue to drive joyful engagement and achievement for our students!

Our team has grown!

We’ve recently hired Mrs. Deborah Hills and Mrs. Saira Khalid, and Mrs. Eve Putrus has accepted an extension of two hours/day in our Resource Room.

Mrs. Hills comes to us with nearly three decades of teaching experience, over which time she has taught the Readers’ and the Writers’ Workshop models using Teachers College Reading and Writing Project materials.  She has also taught math using the Every Day Mathematics program materials.  As you know, we use both resources in our daily instruction at every grade level.

In retirement from Rochester Community Schools Mrs. Hills has served in multiple long-term positions including as a Learning Consultant and an Intervention Specialist.

I’m thrilled to report that Mrs. Hills is now working full time in collaboration with our Meadow Brook second, third, and fourth grade teams!  She is coordinating with our classroom teachers and support staff to provide individual and small group instruction, intervention, and enrichment as needed.

Mrs. Khalid (or “Mrs. S” as the students call her) has been a member of the Meadow Brook team for some time.  She has been a guest Paraeducator in our GE and Visually Structured classrooms, including her long-term service in one of our Visually Structured classrooms this past fall.

Mrs. S is now collaborating with both Mrs. Beier and Mrs. Jakubiak, working with individual students and small groups of student in each of their second grade classrooms for two hours each day.

She spends another portion of her day serving on our Noon Recess/Lunch supervisory team.

Finally, I’m very excited to announce that Mrs. Lyons and I are working together with Mrs. Czarnioski and her students to learn about science and social studies this year!

Mrs. Lyons is teaching Social studies to our 4th grade split class students and I’m teaching the Science curriculum.

We’re having a blast and learning a bunch!

It’s an exciting time to be a Meadow Brook Hero, with all hands on deck to ensure a collaborative, supportive culture for our staff and our parents and world-class education for our students!

Thank you for your patience and your partnership…in it together for the kids!

First Lego League Interest Survey?

Greetings, Meadow Brook Partners!

One of last week’s messages was about the First Lego League Jr. team that’s starting up at Meadow Brook this year (Link: First Lego League Jr. Is Here!)

Guess what – we’ve been hearing that there might be interest in expanding the program, even at the start!

Please follow this link to express interest if you have it: First Lego League Interest Form

Please do this right away as we have a limited amount of time to get things started for the fall.

Thanks!
